Telegraph Road — The Dire Straits Legacy is a dynamic live celebration of the music of legendary British rock band Dire Straits, whose distinctive sound and songwriting helped define an era. Led by the unmistakable voice and fingerstyle guitar of Mark Knopfler, Dire Straits became renowned for their clean guitar tones, thoughtful arrangements and vivid storytelling.

This show brings those timeless songs to life, featuring classics such as Sultans of Swing, Money for Nothing, and Romeo and Juliet. Each performance captures the spirit, feel and musicianship that made these songs world-famous, delivering an authentic and engaging experience for fans of one of rock’s most respected bands.

Fronting the show is vocalist and guitarist Matt Arthur, who leads The Lazybones, a band built on decades of professional experience. Following the release of their 2024 album Then & Now, Matt and the band have toured widely across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, earning strong reviews for their energetic and engaging live performances.

The band features an outstanding lineup of musicians. On keyboards is Sam McNally, a founding member of Melbourne’s iconic band Stylus, who has toured with artists including John Farnham, Tommy Emmanuel, Richard Clapton and Tim Finn. Bassist Michael Vidale performs with Don Walker, while drummer Dave Egan brings more than two decades of musical collaboration with Matt to the stage.

Together, these seasoned performers deliver a night of unforgettable songs, superb musicianship and the unmistakable sound of Dire Straits brought vividly back to life.
