Psycho or Psychic: A True Story Through Clown, Comedy & Physical Theatre

I am psychic… I grew up thinking I’m psychotic, so I created a playful experience to share it with you.
Built from true stories, Psycho or Psychic follows Luna, who has always seen spirits and believed everyone else could see them too.
As she grows up, falls in love and tries to push her experiences aside, she begins to realise the world she lives in isn’t the world everyone else sees. What follows is a funny, strange and deeply human journey as she searches for somewhere she belongs.
Told through physical theatre, character clowning and comedy, the show moves through laughter, chaos and tenderness, constantly shifting beneath your feet. One moment you’re laughing at something completely ridiculous, the next you’re recognising something unexpectedly familiar.
By the end, the question is no longer whether spirits are real, but how we learn to trust ourselves when life doesn’t fi t the stories we’ve been told.

Sarah Francis is a regional Western Australian artist creating original work across physical theatre, clown, movement and live performance. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) from WAAPA and creates theatrical encounters that invite audiences into laughter, curiosity and genuine human connection.
In 2026 she created and toured her original solo work Psycho or Psychic nationally through Perth, Adelaide, Newcastle, Melbourne and Sydney, and provided movement direction and performed in Terra Nullius EMBODIED with Selfless Orchestra. In 2025 she trained at École Philippe Gaulier, performed ALL IN with Dance Makers Collective for Sydney Festival, and toured nationally as Assistant Director and Production Manager for Smile: The Story of Charlie Chaplin.
