Space Rock Inc in partnership with Central Coast Music and Arts are hosting a monthly get together at the Funhaus Factory and everyone is invited! Come and see your favourite local bands as they host this collaborative experience\, enjoy guest sessions with industry professionals\, get amongst it in the open jams\, catch up with friends and make some new ones too. \nMega Jam also includes a vibrant crafternoon space! Settle into the comfy couches and get creative. Bring along your own project or dive into a rotating range of all-ages craft activities like colouring\, art\, cotton crafts\, or rock painting. No experience needed—just a love of making stuff. \nMega Jam takes place on the second Sunday of every month. Doors open at 12pm and the event starts at 2pm\, finishing at 5pm. The host bands will provide some instruments but feel free to bring yours along too. Mega Jam is a free event\, you just need to register via the website link below for each Mega Jam session. Let’s make a positive impact on the environment together! \nJoin us for a fun and inspiring day where fashion meets sustainability! \nSpecial guest Nina Gbor from Eco Styles will lead a workshop on: \nThe impact of fast fashion (trends\, style & waste)\nHow to create your stylish & sustainable wardrobe\nEasy\, fun ways to host your own clothes swap event!\nJoin our community clothes swap and refresh your wardrobe with stylish pieces\nAs the founder of Eco Styles\, Nina Gbor is a sustainable fashion educator\, international speaker\, researcher\, clothes swap maven and eco stylist. Eco Styles engages with media\, councils\, organisations\, schools\, community groups and individuals to develop strategies for systems change towards a holistic circular and sustainable fashion future. \nNina Gbor is the Director of the Circular Economy & Waste Program at The Australia Institute. Nina was also an impact consultant on the War on Waste tv show. \nThere will also be an opportunity to apply to join a working group for those interested in developing a monthly swap event on the coast. \nClothes Swap Rules \nParticipants to bring clean\, good-quality\, undamaged garments and accessories they would be happy to give to a friend. Avoiding items like underwear\, or worn-out workout gear. Items are exchanged without money; you swap the clothes you bring for new-to-you pieces from the collective pool. The goal is to refresh your wardrobe sustainably\, reduce textile waste\, and support a circular fashion economy. \nBefore the Swap \n1. Check your items: Ensure all clothes\, shoes\, and accessories are clean\, free of stains\, rips\, or missing buttons\, and in excellent\, “giftable” condition. \n2. Avoid specific items: Underwear\, used pajamas\, or overused workout gear. \n3. Consider quality and style:You can bring retro\, vintage\, handmade\, or items from all brands (we get young people are on a tight budget)\, but focus on items that are versatile and generally desirable. \nHow the Swap Works: \n1. Drop off items: Bring your items to the event for check-in. \n2. Wait for the official opening: The swap only begins after the host’s welcome and sustainability workshop. \n3. Start swapping: Once declared open\, you can begin selecting new-to-you items from the collective offering\, using your brought items as “currency” which you will receive tokens for. \nThe “Eco” Aspect \nSustainability:The core idea is to reduce fashion waste and the environmental impact of fast fashion.\nCircular economy:Swapping promotes the reuse of clothing\, giving items a second life and fostering a circular fashion economy.\nCommunity:Swaps create a space for people to connect\, share style tips\, and build community around sustainable living and conscious consumption.\nSee you there! \n*If you are a parent or carer supporting a young person to attend- there is no charge.
