SUMMARY:God of Carnage
DESCRIPTION:“At 5:30 P.M. on the third of November\, in Telopea Park\, following a verbal altercation\, Benjamin Raleigh\, eleven\, armed with a stick\, struck Henry Novak in the face. SUMMARY:Chopin’s Last Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Final Days of Chopin\nThe story of a man\, his music\, and the life he led. \n“An intensely charismatic performance” – Stage Whispers \nIt is October 1848. Frail\, heartbroken\, and in exile\, Frédéric Chopin arrives in Scotland at the invitation of Lady Jane Stirling—his devoted student and unrequited admirer. A year from death\, in the shadow of failing health and emotional ruin\, Chopin takes to the stage one last time. Not to dazzle concert halls\, but to bare his soul. \nChopin’s Last Tour is a poignant and poetic solo performance told in the form of a personal letter. Enriched with live piano as Chopin reflects on his journey. From his beginnings as a child prodigy in Poland to the elegant salons of Paris. The audience is transported through a lifetime of passion\, politics\, heartbreak\, and haunting beauty. \nThis is the story of a musical genius\, a gentle\, complex man. Shy\, humorous\, romantic\, and deeply human. Through his music and memories\, we explore his deep ties to his homeland\, his turbulent love affair with George Sand\, his delicate health\, and the quiet strength that fuelled his art. \nEach musical piece has been carefully selected to mirror a specific chapter of Chopin’s life. This gives the audience a visceral\, emotional connection to the music and the man. This is theatre and concert\, confession and tribute—all in one. \n“A performance which captures great sincerity” – 9/10\, Edinburgh\nSince its premiere in Edinburgh to standing ovations\, Chopin’s Last Tour has enchanted audiences across the globe with acclaimed performances in Edinburgh\, Adelaide\, Perth\, Sydney\, Melbourne\, Avignon (France)\, London\, Tallinn\, New Zealand\, and beyond. \nTo date\, the show has been performed over 76 times\, consistently drawing praise for its emotional depth\, elegant storytelling\, and virtuosic musicianship. \nIf you’ve ever loved Chopin’s music—or want to discover the soul behind the notes—this is a must-see theatrical event. \n“Gives Choplin a humanity” – Newcastle Herald\nStick around after the show for a Q & A with the performer: \nPhillip Aughey:\nPhil Aughey is the Founder of Newcastle Fringe. He is also the administrator and director of Anvil Creek Theatre\, author of The Red Dust published through Black Cockie Press\, and a writer\, actor and director of successful theatre works such as The Exchange\, Chopin’s Last Tour and Islands in a Sea of Confusion. \nPhil also wrote\, directed and acted in the Rothbury Riots Re-Enacted in 2019.He performs piano recitals for charity and is currently working on a script for tv. Phil has a BA in Communications from Charles Sturt University majoring in Performance Art (Acting). \nDoors open: 6:00pm for Delicious burgers and street food from Beau’s Burgers.\nShow starts: 7:30pm\nDuration: 50 minutes + Q&A \nThis is an all ages event (under 18’s to be accompanied by an adult)\, in a fully accessible venue.
