DESCRIPTION:What happens when we finally look up from our screens? \nRoundabout Circus and Laycock Street Theatre invite audiences to unplug\, reconnect and rediscover the joy of being human with Cirquosis\, an electrifying contemporary circus production created by the professional Circus Artists of Roundabout Circus. \nCelebrating a major milestone for the region’s live performance infrastructure\, Cirquosis will also be the first production to showcase the theatre’s upgraded aerial rigging system\, installed in consultation with Roundabout Circus. \nThe upgrades significantly expand Laycock Street Theatre’s aerial and circus capabilities\, enabling it to safely host a wider range of professional touring productions and large-scale aerial work. \nRoundabout Circus was engaged as a local consultant in the rigging design process\, and is now the first local organisation to bring the system to life on stage\, marking a significant step forward for Central Coast performing arts opportunities. \nThrough breathtaking aerials\, acrobatics\, juggling\, physical theatre\, dance and circus storytelling\, Cirquosis follows a journey from digital overload back into movement\, imagination\, community and real-world entertainment. \nCreated and performed by the Roundabout Circus crew\, the production showcases the extraordinary talent\, dedication and creativity of the Central Coast’s Community Circus\, while delivering a high-energy theatrical experience for audiences of all ages. \nRoundabout Circus founder Rachel Peters said the show reflects a challenge many families recognise.\n“We live in a world where people spend so much time looking down at devices\, notifications\, and the word ‘social’ has a new meaning.This show asks what happens when we look up again\,” she said.\n“Cirquosis is joyful\, powerful\, funny and deeply human. Expect bubbles on bodies\, giant tubes balanced on nine‑inch heels\, smoke‑filled spheres shooting skyward\, hand‑crafted bubble sculptures\, spinning carousels\, bubble cubes\, free‑standing foam creatures\, and shimmering walls of liquid light. All of it delivered by two of the most impressively sculpted performers you’ll see this Festival. \nIulia Benze Murray and Kurt Murray—together known as Bubble Laboratory—are a five‑star\, award‑nominated theatre company pushing the boundaries of bubble artistry for stage\, film\, and television. Their internationally touring hit\, Bubbleshow For Adults Only\, spreads joy\, mischief\, and wonder around the world every year. \n‘Wonderful showcase of technical prowess of bubble art on a first-class level’\nFEST MAG \n‘Lust\, jealously\, breaking up and making up\, through striptease\, foam burlesque\, acrobatics and of course creative bubble making.’\nONE4REVIEW \nPerformers\nIulia Benze\, MA Performance Practice and Research (Central School of Speech and Drama)\, is an actress and performance artist with deep expertise in feminism\, psychoanalysis and stuckism. She has translated academic theatre texts for Odin Theatre\, helped lead the Alternative Actors project\, and co‑founded CRAFT in London. Her most beloved creation is Milkshake\, the mischievous clown at the heart of Bubble Laboratory’s shows\, winning over audiences of all ages with boundless joy and playful chaos. \nKurt Murray\, BCA (Hons) Drama and Performance\, brings over two decades of theatre experience as an actor\, designer\, producer\, teacher\, cabaret performer\, wrestler and director. His pursuit of new performance forms has taken him from Iranian acting masters to Qi Gong training in China\, and he has taught for Sylvia Young Theatre and Delfont Mackintosh in London. A lifelong bubble enthusiast\, Kurt fused Bubbleology with storytelling to create a bold new style of bubble entertainment\, earning glowing reviews\, award nominations and a growing international following.\nThis is an 18+ event.
