SUMMARY:Plot Gay: Creative Writing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Write Your Queer Story\nJoin us for Plot Gay\, a special Plot Play creative writing workshop for LGBTQIA+ people and allies aged 16 and over. A friend or support person who can help you write your story is welcome. \nIn this inclusive and accessible session\, we will write our own queer stories in a relaxed and supportive environment. Plot Gay is especially designed for people who have trouble with reading and writing\, including adults with intellectual disability\, but EVERYONE with an interest in creative writing should come along! \nNo writing experience needed. \nYou will be guided through fun and creative writing prompts. \nYou will leave with an outline for your next story. \nIf you like what you write\, you’ll be encouraged to enter your easy to read story in a writing competition later this year. \nWinners will be announced on 3 December – International Day of People with Disability. \nAll materials provided but bring whatever you most like to write with. \nAccessibility\nWe will use Easy Read and visual materials\nWe will speak in plain English\nYou can bring a story helper (friend or support worker for free\, please email us at festival@coastaltwist.org.au to organise)\nYou choose how to record or write your story\nWe will not rush\nYou can take breaks whenever you like\nWe will have example stories\nThe FunHaus venue meets accessibility standards\nYou can ask us for a social story to help with getting to the event\nWe can work with your interpreter\nYou can talk to us about any other access needs\nThis event is recommended 16+ due to possible mature themes (under 18’s to be accompanied by an adult) \nFully accessible venue.

DESCRIPTION:Multi-Art Showcase and Celebration for 12 – 17 year olds\nLoud Mouth will feature performances and art in all forms from video\, performance art\, drag\, dance\, live music\, you name it!! \nEveryone of all ages are welcome to come along for a night of family entertainment and fun! We want to see all mums\, dads\, carers\, cousins\, bring your grandma\, your bestie\, your littlest sibling!! Cheer on the amazing diverse youth of the Central Coast! \nUnder 18s get in for FREE but you must be registered to attend! \nRefreshments available to purchase on the night.\nUnder 16s must be accompanied by an adult.\nDoors open 5pm for a 6pm sharp show time!\nWant to perform on the night?\nYou must be 12-17 years old and identify as LGBTQIA+\, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander or live with a disability. \nWe want to see performances from ALL art forms! Poetry\, dance\, music\, drag\, comedy\, whatever your amazing imagination conjures!! \nNOTE: Registering a ticket for this event secures you a seat in the audience – performers do not need to register a ticket\, only complete the Expression of Interest form \nSAFETY:\nYouth workers if you want to have a chat and to make sure everyone has a safe and supported experience.\nTrained First Aid & Mental Health First Aid\nStrict rules ensuring all events are drug\, smoke and alcohol-free.\nStrict policies ensuring all volunteers and staff comply with child safety laws and checks.\nSupported by the Australian Government Department of Social Services. \nThis event is for 12-17 year olds\, in a fully accessible venue.

DESCRIPTION:We welcome our extended rainbow network to join us for poetry and good feels at Link and Pin as part of the 2025 Coastal Twist Festival! \nHosted by EJ and Liz (Space Whale) Pride Poetry is a wholesome community gathering for folks to share a love of poetry. \nThe format is open mic\, anyone get up and read poetry\, a story or song. You can read an original or from a published poet.\nThe poetry reading takes place over two sessions with a short break between. The event usually finishes around 8.30pm / 9pm\nThe event is wheelchair accessible from the back lane.\nPlease get in touch if you have any sensory or accessibility needs or requests as we aim for the event to be as accessible and welcoming as possible for all folks with a disability including those with diverse brains and nervous systems!\nEntry is free and dinner and drinks are available for purchase on the night.\nPride Poetry takes place on First Nations land. We pay respects to Elders past and present\, and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
