SUMMARY:Gina Jeffreys - An Afternoon of Country Magic!
DESCRIPTION:Multi award winning Country Music Queen Gina Jeffreys paved the way for the future of women in Australian Country Music in the 90’s\, being the first female in the history of Aussie Country to achieve platinum record sales and sell out shows across the nation. \nAfter bursting on to the scene in 1991\, when she won the iconic Starmaker\, (previous winners –Keith Urban\, Lee Kernaghan\, James Blundell) Gina quickly became the face of Australian country music. \nIn 1994\, she opened for Johnny Cash on a National tour winning the hearts of Australia.\n“From this moment on\, things really changed for me” says Gina. “I literally went from singing to 3 or 4 people in a dimly lit Sydney wine bar to standing in front of 15\,000 people a night before Johnny came out. That tour really introduced me to a fan base I would never have met and I’m so truly grateful for that. Touring with Johnny at such a young age taught me so much. Just to stand on the side of the stage every night and watch how he touched people’s hearts changed me.” \nGina went on to successfully tour Australia and many places all over the world. Visiting the troupes in East Timor was a real highlight getting to sing alongside John Farnham and Kylie Minogue. Another unforgettable moment for Gina was travelling to China in 1998. Gina represented Australia in a spectacular New Year’s Eve concert that broadcast live to over a billion people featuring artists of all genres from all over the world. \nHit songs like Girls Night Out became the anthem for country girls all over Australia\, and Gina had countless number 1 songs over her career. \nIn 2003\, Gina and husband\, record producer Rod McCormack had their son Jacky and Gina chose to step out of the spotlight to raise him. “I really never wanted to miss a kiss goodnight or a football game.” Now son Jacky has turned out just like his musician/producer dad and is playing guitar in Gina’s band and other major artists.\nAlmost 30 years after it all began\, Gina is still wowing the crowds both on stage and behind the scenes\, mentoring and penning chart topping songs for the next generation. During the last few years\, Gina has been madly writing songs with many artists\, having a bunch of songs in the top 10 with artists like Max Jackson\, The Vixens of Fall\, Courtney Keil and many more. \nAnd true to form\, as Gina learnt from Johnny Cash – pay it forward and take new young artists on the road with you. In her early years of touring Gina took out Troy Cassar-Daley\, Adam Harvey\, Max Jackson and many more\, and now\, as always\, Gina’s band features some of Australia’s best musicians including her award winning producer\, husband Rod McCormack. \nA show not to be missed! \nSupported by – COURTNEY KEIL \nIn 2025\, Courtney was crowned the ‘Best Female Vocal’ in January for the third consecutive year at the Tamworth Country Music Festival\, the Australian Country Music People’s Choice Awards. Off the back of Courtney’s release of ‘Worn In’\, a beautiful duet featuring vocals with Platinum and Multi Golden Guitar Winner Gina Jeffreys\, came the nostalgic\, profoundly personal single ‘Just Like Flying’. The tune paid homage to her late grandfather’s triumphs in his hometown in the Barossa Valley sharing stories of his youth\, during Australia’s Jubilee year of 1951.
