DESCRIPTION:📍 The Hub Erina Youth Entertainment Venue\n📆 Tuesday 21 April from 5:30pm – 8:30pm\n🎟️ FREE with registration\nElevate your artist profile with a hands-on bio-writing session and professional press photos – everything you need to make a strong first impression. \nBuilding a strong artist bio and having high-quality press photos are essential at the start of any creative career – they’re often your first impression with venues\, collaborators\, and the media. \nAs part of the Mix & Master program during Youth Week\, this free workshop is designed to support young and emerging creatives to develop these key tools. \nOpen to performers and creators\, including musicians\, dancers\, visual artists\, writers and actors\, the workshop offers artists and bands the opportunity to have a professional press shot taken on the night. \nParticipants will join a hands-on bio-writing session\, beginning with a 20-minute workshop led by a professional writer that covers how to craft an engaging bio\, what to include\, how to create long and short versions\, and how to adapt your bio as your career grows. Following the workshop\, we will break into groups where participants work on their own bios with mentor support and feedback. \nDuring this time\, press photos will be taken for those who have signed up. There are spots available for solo artists and bands. Photos will be taken in both portrait and landscape orientations and sent out in the weeks following the session. Artists are encouraged to dress to impress and bring props\, instruments\, or other creative elements to make their shots stand out. Artists will be contacted ahead of the event regarding photoshoot. \nSpaces are strictly limited\, so book your spot now! \nLight refreshments will be provided. All ages welcome\, adult supervision recommended for under 16. \nNOTE: Individual registration required – all band/group members must each book a ticket. \nWe’ll be capturing photos and video at this event. SUMMARY:Mix & Master - Comfort & Confidence on Stage
DESCRIPTION:This FREE hands-on workshop is led by TraversX\, aka Yt DiNGO\, and draws on his lived experience as a performer working with sound\, movement\, and presence. Travers has worked everywhere from red dirt communities to Hollywood stages\, bringing a grounded\, adaptable approach shaped by many rooms\, rhythms and audiences. The workshop is suitable for all stage performers – singers\, musicians\, bands\, actors\, spoken word artists\, poets\, dancers and more\, who want to feel confident\, connected and at ease on stage. \nAt the core of the session is joining the rhythm of a space and learning how to create within it. Rather than pushing nerves away\, the work focuses on moving imposter syndrome out of the way and letting your thoughts land and become. Participants will explore practical ways to prepare the body and mind before performing\, including warm-ups\, breathing\, and simple pre-show rituals that help you settle in\, trust yourself and stay present. \nA strong focus is placed on connection. Through guided exercises and shared practice\, participants build awareness of themselves and each other\, learning how to bounce off the energy in the room and work with what is already there. The on-stage work looks at body awareness\, movement and how you take up space\, while also noticing habits that may be holding you back on both small and big scales. The aim is to break unhelpful patterns\, embrace imperfection\, and turn nervous energy into something alive\, responsive and confident on stage. \nThis project is proudly funded by the NSW Government through Sound NSW.
